Whatever the reasons - youthful recklessness, impulsiveness, necessity, political statement, obsession - we want to know about it.

Have you ever had anything stolen from you?

We are interested in the objects, and the stories behind them. We are collecting stories about objects people have stolen, and/or objects stolen from them, as a starting point for a project.

Images are also welcome!

No personal information will be revealed beyond your stories.

This project was begun as a collaboration between Laura Horelli and Geoffrey Garrison in April 2002 with the intention of collecting stories relating to theft . We do not wish to glorify or condemn theft, but rather to look at common ocurrances of stealing, the interpretation of ownership, right and law as reflected in the stories that are sent to us. We reserve the right to publish or alter the stories contributed to the site.
